So happy to have you here.
As a lifelong seeker and practitioner of all things spiritual and healing, my background is eclectic, diverse and well- rounded. I began my spiritual journey senior year of high school. I began to change rapidly, reading anything and everything I could get my hands on that was going to aid in my awakening. At the same time, I fell in love with and began following the Grateful Dead. This was a pivotal shift in my life; not only did I find magic in the music and lived the lyrics as mantras, I had found my first tribe and it is still an essential part of my being. This led to traveling the country and eventually a move to live in California for 3 ½ years. This was a childhood dream of mine and to actualize it, manifest it and make it happen was a very powerful experience for me. During this time, I began to deepen my beliefs, began experimenting in different techniques in the spiritual world and was developing a true sense of why I was here and what I was meant to do. After many years of being free of any real commitments, I moved back to New York, continued to travel around the country and abroad, and decided to dedicate the next few years to a more formal education. My next chapter also happened very quickly.
I worked hard to earn an undergraduate degree in psychology. This continued my deep interest in the human condition and the “why” behind who we are. At the same time, I also received my Master’s Degree in Special Education. I have dedicated over 20, passionate years to this. My belief as a teacher is that all things are possible when given love, coaching, guidance and patience. I am still a special education teacher, lead with these core values and realized that this actually provided a deep foundation for my role as a healer and a person that can use the alchemy of energy.
My non-traditional education was and remains on-going. When I was 25, I was trained in The Way of the Shaman, the Michael Harner method, which incorporates shamanic journeying, power, and healing modalities. This method has played a helpful role in my personal, spiritual practice and provided much guidance to myself and others. At 32, I completed a yoga teacher training at Serenity Yoga. My gift from this training was to approach life in the same way that yoga teaches: adapt, adjust and accommodate. I have been trained in Chakra Dance which incorporates using the chakra system and movement to deepen an awareness in our physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. My latest training is in the lineage of Mikao Usui Reiki. I am currently Level 2 and this has been an amazing, profound addition to healing myself and others. I continue to attend various conferences to turnkey mindfulness techniques and practices, living with gratitude, mediations and breath work.
Parallel to all of this, one of my creative passions has always been making jewelry and I’ve been doing this since the tender age of 10. I am self-taught, make original, hand-crafted pieces and this has always been a labor of love. When creating, I honor those who came before me while fusing the present. Quite naturally, my pieces have a spiritual element as they have symbolic meaning whether in bead count, pendants with symbolic meaning, talismans with power, crystals and gemstones with healing properties and sometimes combining these all…. They are reiki charged and always made with love.
Being born on the beach and spending my life by the ocean identifies who I am. Everything I do and share starts with being close to the shore. The ocean holds many lessons and I’ve truly learned that life is an endless ebb and flow-we just have to learn to ride the tide.
